This honey is dedicated to the ancient oracle of Delph, the “pythia”, who was also known as the“∆ελφική Μέλισσα” (the Delphic bee). Here in the ancient land of Delphi, bees were worshipped as divine creatures and they were placed as emblems on ancient coins and artifacts.

Bees are an amazing example of species evolution that live in a fragile balance with nature and our ancestors knew that.

MoKa Thyme Honey: Our hardest-to-make, award-winning honey, harvested at just 2kg per hive annually. Made from thyme nectar gathered by our bees from native, wild thyme bushes that grow in the Delphi region, it boasts a characteristic amber colour and unique taste, making it arguably the most flavourful Greek honey. It is also world famous for its powerful antiseptic, antibacterial, and immune system boosting properties.

Thyme honey is made in small quantities because the Thyme flowers are tiny, and the Thyme bushes are sensitive to adverse changes in climate. In order to make one kilogram (2.2 pounds) a single colony needs to visit approximately 4 million flowers.This massive effort involves flying a distance equivalent to circling the Earth multiple times.
